CEO and President of Houston Money Week, She Brings a decade and half of experience in finance and program and process strategic planning. Under her three years of leadership, Houston Money Week entered its first year as a freestanding nonprofit after operating as an initiative since 2008, marking a major milestone in the organization’s history.
Sabrina also serves as the Financial Literacy Specialist for Texas Southern University, where she designs and strategically implements financial literacy programming to impact students, faculty, staff, and the broader community. Through this role, she continues to advance financial education as a tool for personal empowerment, institutional impact, and community transformation.
From 2021 to 2024, Sabrina led a municipal government citywide initiative focused on increasing safe and affordable banking access and financial empowerment for Houston residents. Through this work, she helped expand access to banking resources and financial education to well over 500,000 residents in her first full year of leadership.
A graduate of Lamar University with a degree in Sociology, Sabrina’s leadership journey began early. She served as Student Body President and has continued to use her voice to champion education, community impact, and economic opportunity.
Sabrina is also a proud pageant titleholder organization. She was crowned Ms. Black Texas USA 2020 and represented Texas at the national Miss Black USA pageant in Washington, D.C., where she made history by receiving the most awards at the national competition, including Ms. Community Service, Ms. Congeniality, and 2nd Runner-Up for Ms. Black USA 2021.
She is the author of $1.50 Love Letter to My Nieces, a powerful ode to encouraging young Black women to recognize their worth, embrace their voice, and understand money as a tool, not a measure of their value.
Originally from Wichita Falls, Texas, Sabrina is the third of nine children and was adopted by her grandparents at the age of 13. Her lived experience fuels her passion for helping others move beyond challenging circumstances and into greater opportunity.
Her impact has been recognized through several honors, including the 2025 MLK Legacy Builder Award, the 2025 Waymaker Award, and 2025 recognition as one of Houston’s Raw, Real, and Authentic Women.
Through every role she holds, Sabrina continues to serve as a beacon of hope, strategy, and financial empowerment. She firmly believes that “Money is a tool, and only with the proper use, maintenance, and understanding of this tool can people stop working for money and have their money work for them”.
